Running the Azure Marketplace Offer

Besides on premises deployments, RheinInsights offers its retrieval suite as an Azure Container application. Please refer to

The deployment process is as follows:

  1. Click on “Get It Now”

  2. In the following dialog

    1. choose a subscription

    2. create or choose an existing resource group

    3. Also, you can choose if you like to create a new cluster or use an existing Azure Kubernetes Service

    4. If you choose to create a new cluster, you can choose the location

    5. Click on next

  3. If you chose to use a new cluster, you need to the following information:

    1. AKS cluster name

    2. Kubernetes Version (where you should use the latest version)

    3. VM Size (we recommend using a medium sized machine with more than 10GB RAM)

    4. The OS SKU (here you can choose Azure Linux or Ubuntu)

    5. Enable Auto-Scaling

    6. and the maximum number of nodes

    7. Click on next

  4. In the next dialog you need to give a name to the application

    1. Click on next

  5. In the next dialog you can review the information given and create the cluster and application

Depending on whether you already have a cluster or not, it takes one to five Minutes until the RheinInsights-Instance is up and running.

IP Address and Ingress

In order to access the Suite, do the following

  1. Open the AKS service in the Azure Portal

  2. Click on Services and Ingresses

  3. Search for the name of the retrieval suite deployment:

  4. Open the given URL with https:// as a protocol.

  5. Continue with the steps within First Run Configuration

Manage the Deployment

In order to access the Suite, do the following

  1. Open the AKS cluster

  2. Click on workloads

  3. You will find the Suite as a stateful set.

Please note that the deployment comes with three disks. The disks are used to store logs, a local state, if needed and the baseline configuration.
